This paper considers slang as passiolalia, that is, speech which is the manifestation of the energy of the biosphere (and anthroposphere) and whose most important element is expressiveness. Passiolalia is the result of the fluctuation of the energy level of the biosphere. Slang is activized and an interest towards it (the myth of slang) increases regularly in certain periods in the life of a people, and an interest in it swells at various points in time. Today’s passiolalia in Russian greatly resembles a similar period in medieval Europe.
